Kindergarten Winter 2019 Term One Overview

Science
   What are humans basic needs?
Humans interact with matter everyday. 
   What is matter?
   How do humans interact with matter? What qualities do
   different forms of matter have?

Mathematics
 compare quantities 1-10, beginning with 1-5
 recognize that there are several ways to solve a problem
 continue to develop a sense of number i.e.: one to one 
    correspondence
 orally count to ten from zero and from ten down to zero
 begin to recognize that objects have different attributes

Language for social relationships
  Listens when someone is speaking 
  Initiates conversation 
 Joins conversation 
 Takes turns in conversation 
 Uses appropriate behaviours during 
    conversation
 Joins class and small-group discussion 
 Uses appropriate social registers for different  
    settings (e.g., playground, centres, circle time,
